Why This Hinge Breaks

The hinge is the one joint on these headsets that moves every single time they go on or come off, and it is thin plastic carrying the spring tension of the headband while it does. It is the best-known failure point on this generation of Logitech G-series headsets — enough so that replacing it is a routine repair rather than an unusual one. When it cracks, the ear cup goes loose or drops away while the drivers, mic and cable are all still perfectly good.
