Why This Clip Breaks

The plastic tab that snaps the remote onto the sun visor flexes every time the remote is pulled off or reseated, and that repeated flex is exactly what makes thin injection-molded plastic brittle over time — heat buildup behind the windshield makes it worse. Once the tab breaks off, Genie does not sell the clip separately, so the only official fix is buying a whole new remote.
