Why This Clip Breaks

• The internal hose retaining clip is the small plastic tab that locks the bottom internal hose securely inside the vacuum body. When the tab snaps off, the hose partially dislodges from its seat — causing a significant loss of suction as air bypasses the hose seal. The hose itself is usually fine; only the tiny retaining clip has failed. Dyson does not sell this clip as a standalone part. The only official replacement is the full internal hose assembly (920682-01) at $20–40. This printed clip secures your existing hose back in place for a fraction of that cost.

Installation

• 1. Remove any remnants of the broken original clip. 2. Push the hose all the way into its port. 3. Hook the clip behind the hose retaining ring and tilt it into place. 4. Insert the original screw through the clip and tighten 1–2 turns — do not overtighten.
