Why This Latch Breaks

• The dust canister latch is the button that you squeeze to detach and reattach the dust cup during emptying. Every cleaning session requires at least one press of this latch — over time the plastic tab fatigues and snaps, leaving the canister unable to lock back onto the vacuum body. Shark does not sell this latch button as a standalone part. The only official replacement is the entire dust canister assembly at $30–40. This printed latch restores full function at a fraction of that cost.
