Why This Clip Breaks

• The dust bin closure clip is the small plastic hook that locks the bottom flap of the dust bin shut after emptying. Every time the bin is emptied the flap is opened and the clip re-engages under spring tension when the flap closes. The thin plastic hook fatigues over time and eventually snaps — leaving the bin flap hanging open during use and dust escaping back onto the floor. Dyson does not sell this small clip individually. The only official option is replacing the full dust bin assembly, which costs significantly more. This printed clip snaps onto the remains of the original hook and works just like the factory part.
