Why This Latch Breaks

• The neck latch is the spring-loaded clip that locks the upper handle section to the main body of the vacuum. It is engaged and released every time the vacuum is reconfigured between upright and handheld modes. The plastic tab that captures the spring load fatigues quickly under this repeated stress and snaps off — leaving the neck unable to lock in place during use. Bissell does not sell this small latch piece as a standalone part. The only official solution is a full neck assembly replacement at approximately $50. This printed latch restores full function for a fraction of that cost.
