Why This Hinge Breaks

• Over time the plastic hinge that connects each ear cup to the headband fatigues and cracks — it is one of the most common failure points across the entire ATH-M50 family. The original design includes a small plastic nub that limits how far the hinge opens, but this nub is the first thing to break. Once it goes, the hinge overextends and eventually snaps completely. This printed PETG clip snaps directly over the existing hinge, providing a stronger limiter that can even be installed over an intact nub to prevent future breakage. Unlike flimsy alternatives, this design still allows the headphones to fold flat into the carrying case.

Installation
