Why This Plug Breaks (or Goes Missing)

The center plug has to come out every time you add ingredients mid-blend, so it gets handled, dropped, and set down loose more than almost any other part on the machine. Repeated flexing of the small retaining tab eventually cracks the plastic, and a part that's not tethered to the lid is an easy one to lose down a sink or in a drawer. Vitamix containers run $80-150, but the OEM plug typically isn't sold as a cheap standalone part through most retail channels.

Compatible Models

Fits the Vitamix 64oz High Profile Container lid — the same lid used on classic Vitamix blenders such as the 5200, 5000, and 6300.
