Why This Part Fails

• Every time a Roomba docks, electrical current passes through the metal charging contacts on the Clean Base. Over hundreds of docking cycles, the heat generated at the contact points slowly degrades the plastic holder surrounding them. The plastic softens, warps, and eventually the contacts sink or tilt out of position — causing the Roomba to charge intermittently, not charge at all, or trigger a burning smell. iRobot sells the entire Clean Base assembly as a unit, not the individual holder, making this printed replacement the most cost-effective fix available.
